About Patent Wines®

A Small Napa Winery With a Lot of Experience

Patent Wines started with a simple idea: make the wines we want to drink, from Napa Valley vineyards we believe in, and keep the winery personal. We’re Tom Rinaldi and Eric Risch. Between us, we bring approximately 75 years of experience in Napa Valley wine.

Two People. Two Varieties. One Philosophy.

We’re a small winery by choice. Our focus is Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Tom leads our winemaking, drawing on more than 50 Napa Valley harvests. Eric oversees operations, sales, marketing and vineyard relationships.

There aren’t layers of people between us and our customers. When you contact Patent Wines, there’s a pretty good chance you’re talking to Tom or Eric.

Wine Without All the Rules

Patent Wines doesn’t operate a traditional wine club with mandatory shipments. Buy a bottle. Buy a case. Come back when you want. Subscribers occasionally receive private offers and winery news, but there are no required purchases or automatic shipments.

More Ways to Share Patent

From time to time, we also take Patent Wines beyond Napa through invitation-based private wine gatherings and personalized business gifting. If either sounds interesting, contact us directly and tell us what you have in mind.

Want to Know More? Talk to Us.

Patent Wines isn’t a traditional tasting-room operation. We’re a very small winery, and there are only two of us. If you’re curious about the wines, Tom’s winemaking, our vineyards, purchasing wine, private wine gatherings or client wine gifting, give us a call (707-363-3281) or send us an email to Eric@PatentWines.com. You’ll absolutely hear directly from Tom or Eric.
